Business Blogging – Earning An Income From Your Blog

Category : Blogging

To make money blogging there are two means available which entrepreneurs can use. The first and most popular way to turn a blog into a profit making machine is to sell marketing to assorted companies and brands who want to reach that weblog’s readers.

The second kind of money making blog is one that helps a single brand improve its image by creating positive affiliations between the blog and the product in the mind of consumers. If the creator has a sharp brain for marketing, weblogs can make a good amount of money.

There are 2 basic, yet good, ways to recruit sponsors in order to have their advertizements featured on your weblog. Permit another individual to carry out the legwork or do it yourself so you can enjoy the whole profit.

Within the first group, many individuals make money blogging by selling space through Google’s AdSense program. The blogger or webmaster has to put in scarcely any exertion to reap the profits. Not many individuals actually make the amount of money they thought when starting their blog.

It can be time consuming to contact firms directly concerning placing their banner advertizements or sponsored links on your site, but the money you can earn sometimes makes the time well worth it. If you have a lot of links in industries that are related to the topic of your weblog, you may want to attempt to go this route.

Renting weblog space to establishments can be a great way to make a lot of money for those people who have a strong sales background and are great at pitching propositions. The biggest pitfall of this example is that it needs a substantial number of regular visitors before you begin getting offers from advertisers. You might have to complete many months of effort before you start making money blogging.

Blogging has become so popular that many business are seeking ways to making this work for them. The way that businesses are gaining on the weblog popularity is by inventing weblogs that are very pleasing to the eye for their companies.

Regularly, a business sector will hire a deep-rooted blogger to generate a weblog appealing to their customers and produce an alliance with the brand in the consumers mind. A lot of authors were making a pretty decent living blogging, even before they were approached to weblog, but had never even considered it.

Tired of SEO Theories and Algorithms: Try Blogging

Category : Blogging

Most of the local business owners, who I know, still don’t have a web presence -for a combination of reasons. Many business owners are from my age group and don’t feel comfortable setting up a website. So, they pay somebody else to do it or it never gets done. There are a multitude of reasons to avoid launching your business on the web, and all of them are “lame excuses.”

As I travel around town, I get to hear all the excuses. “I’m too old,” “Our business isn’t the Internet type,” and “I don’t know HTML.” You can tell everybody else those excuses, but do you want to grow your business or not? The vast majority of small
businesses fail, and the Internet is the cheapest form of advertising available.

If haven’t launched a website or Blog, you are delaying business marketing progress for nothing. Take a computer class, learn from your kids, or learn from your grandchildren, but start as soon as possible. Perhaps, your grandchild can earn some money teaching you how to make even more money.

Blogs are easy to start with, since you don’t need to have any HTML knowledge. You can also go to Blogger, and get a free Blog. It might take you 10 to 15 minutes to set up and start posting information right away.

Some website hosts work like that too, but let’s assume you have a site of some kind. Did you know your website host might have a Blog feature built in, at no extra charge? If you have this feature, you can easily build a commercial Blog.

For a small business, with a website and commercial Blog, you should be able to establish your natural search engine rankings. Sometimes, these are called “organic rankings” and you don’t have to pay a penny for them. It may take a few months or more to establish yourself, and you should make regular posts.

For optimum results, your regular posts can be daily, a few times per week, or once a week. More postings are much better and will have significant impact on your rankings. Search engines love frequent posts, such as those found in Blogs.

Instead of worrying about Google algorithms, and SEO(search engine optimization) theories, go back to the basics and boost your rankings with content. Most of us have heard, “Content is King,” and it is totally true.

So what do you say about your business? Tell your established customers and prospects about your service and products. Explain what your unique selling proposition (USP) is. This is what makes you different from similar businesses in your town.

When you have new products, or are looking for feedback about new product development, a Blog is extremely useful. Your customers and prospects can leave you feedback, so marketing research is very easy.

Lastly, don’t shy away from a “gold mine.” Free advertising is too valuable to ignore. Blogs are the advertising bargain of the decade and possibly, of the 21st century.

Social Media Marketing Do’s and Don’ts

Category : Blogging

Social media marketing is an all-encompassing term that is batted around the Internet these days in a very willy-nilly fashion.

There are lots of “gurus” who claim to know their stuff and can show you the promised land on how to make a mountain of profits with zero advertising costs by using their social media marketing techniques or their social marketing tactics.

Unfortunately, most of these “gurus” show you no proof nor any pictures or video evidence of campaigns they’ve run in the social media space which successfully made these millions and millions of dollars they claim you’ll make by using their process.

Caveat emptor definitely applies on the Internet.

It’s a big bad world out there and you’ve got to consider the source of who you’re going to take advice and training from.

The simple rule I use is for anyone to give me advice they have to have achieved what I want to achieve already. This way I know they know their stuff and by following them I should get similar results to what they’ve already gottten.

All too often on the Internet though it’s easy to get hyped up and excited by a sales message and just act on that impulse to buy. This can get you in trouble though.

Whenever you’re looking at buying something, any kind of training material it’s always best to do a search with that training package name and the word “scam” or the product name plus “reviews”.

I know this is basic day one type of stuff but it’s very important and all too often overlooked. You want to know the reputation of the person selling you the stuff and get any reviews from people who’ve bought and used it.

Now I’m going to give you your start with social media marketing.

The first thing you have to understand is it’s a completely different space than regular advertising formats. Most people would argue you shouldn’t even do any marketing in this type of space because the people are there for socializing and to connect with friends.

This creates a unique challenge and absolutely demands a different type of marketing than the blatant advertisements you see in banner ads and on paper click campaigns like Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Network, and MSN Adcenter along with all the smaller PPC places.

The biggest thing in the social space is establishing your reputation and your personal brand. These people don’t want to see a bunch of corporate sales pitches.

You want to allow your personality to emerge in your communications.

Some of the things you can do depending on the site is provide valuable content and information the people you want to connect with would be interested in.

So at the start you want to target and make friends with influencers in your market and start making friends with people interested in that topic. You can do this by searching groups which encompass your topic area and make friends with members of those groups obviously.

Once you have this down you can start to ask some of your friends what information they’re interested in and what’s missing from the information which is out there and available to them.

Then of course you provide that information in multiple formats including text notes and article posts, audio podcast, and video trainings/how to video tutorials.

I can see you may be starting to whine saying “it sounds like a lot of work”.

It does take some upfront investment in order to get some returns out the back end.

You can think of the social media space as a bank. You have to put money in before you can take money out. When your bank account goes into a negative you have problems.

It’s the same in the social media space in that you’ve got to give value and establish yourself and your brand before you can sell stuff and take money out.

So start out giving good valuable information and encourage people to comment. Encourage them to ask you for more information and then when they do so you can send them a link to your sales letter.

This has gone over very well when I’ve used this tactic and it’s also worked very well for my friends who’ve used it. It works far better than just shoving a link in someone’s face.

You follow these basics and you’ll be well on your way to establishing a quality presence and getting valuable interaction and value exchange from your social media marketing efforts.

Why A Gift of Gab Equals Blogging Money

Category : Blogging

It used to be that if you were a writer, it was either feast or famine, and you were usually living in poverty, until you made a big success. Now, bloggers and blogging is making money for those writers who have not necessarily been published traditionally.

Believe it or not, individuals who are blogging are earning money on a regular basis by turning their passions into writing income. There are several things you can do to start earning money by blogging, your first step is going to make sure you have all of the required software. This can include speech recognition software, a good word processing program, an Internet connection and the ability to write at the English 101 level or whatever language you prefer.

One of the ways that bloggers and blogging is making an income is to use adsense writing by Google. Google is a search engine, worldwide, and one of the most powerful Internet search engines in the world today. Becoming a partner with Google by using adsense ads, allows you to make money from your blogging.

The topic of your blog will have a lot to do with the ads that are placed there. Also your popularity, the more people that read your blog, the more chances they are going to click on the ads, the more money you’re going to make.

For instance, if you were to write in your blog about the care of an animal, then the ads that would be shown in your partnership with Google on your blog would also consider the medical care, the type of animal, and a variety of other things that have all to do with the blog you wrote. This allows for those people who are interested in your blog to find more information, purchase products, and browse the Internet easier.

You’ll get paid every time someone clicks on one of the ads on your blog. That’s how you make money by blogging. A partnership with Google is a good start, but there are also other ways to make money with your blog.

If your blog is relatively popular, you can actually be an advertising salesman. The benefit of this is that you’re going to place ads on your blog site, and you have control on how much they cost. You’ll be renting space on your blog area to different companies who want to advertise their products or services. The whole idea behind renting space individually instead of allowing Google to do it, is you’ll have control over how much money you make, and what ads you except.

There’s a wide variety of ways to actually cash in on your passion. Making a blog, keeping it up, and selling advertising space through Google partnerships or on your own is one way to make an income through blogging.

Blogging Brings Your Business To The Next Level

Category : Blogging

There are times that we dream of becoming famous and rich. But not everyone has what it takes to even be a movie celebrity or a famous supermodel. You should consider that even regular people can become famous by blogging. Indeed, this can bring you so much fame and could even get you rich.

As online business owner, know that the key to success on an online business is by getting targeted traffic to your website. Targeted traffic is the type of people that visits your website and not just anyone. To make this happen, you need to advertise the products throughout the internet and through affiliate programs, emails, banners, article publishing websites, and etc.

Blogging is what people use today as a sort of their life journal. Many use it as an outlet to their frustrations in writing. Others use it as a diary that puts everything that happened to them at a particular day. There are some people who found blogging as a great tool for marketing not just products but services also.

You should consider the fact that people love to read blogs. Millions of people are logging on the internet daily. You can just imagine how many people might enter your blogging website and read your blogs.

You can market your products or services in a blogging website, but have to remember that you should never treat blogs as a marketing tool even if this is your purpose. Try treating it as a way in communicating to other people. The last thing that people want to see in a blog is some salesman trying to sell their wares on the blogs they are writing.

You will be surprised as at how many ways you can market products. Just remember that people will not like salesmen trying to push the products to their faces. What they need is someone who is a regular person that knows a little something about a particular thing in this case your product.

This means that when you are writing your blogs, never be a salesman. Instead, you should think more like a customer who have tried the product and loved it. Try asking yourself what they are going to say about your product in a blog. By thinking and writing like the customer, you are now able to relate to different people. You will be on their side and be their friend.

How To Generate Traffic From Your Blog

Category : Blogging

With well over 100 million blogs operating worldwide today, you need to employ certain tactics to ensure readers will be attracted to your special blog. You can generate traffic for your business by following a few basic fundamentals of successful blogging.

Decide what your specific goal is for creating your blog, and gear your blog contents towards your intended goal. For example, offer advice within your area of expertise if you are trying to establish yourself as an expert in your field. To promote your business, post information about your products and services. Your readers will come to trust you and the information you present if you are consistent with the blog content. Remember that your blog is a representation of your business, and your audience is creating images and expectations of your business from the information you post.

Your blog content should be meaningful and useful to the reader. Beware of writing blogs that will have no value to your audience. Carefully think about what your targeted readers are expecting and do your best to deliver that to them. This will convey to your audience that you respect them and that you are a reliable source for information.

Update your blog consistently with fresh information. It will be difficult to build a significant reader base if your blog is not revised regularly. Your readers will not want to see the same information they have already read week after week. Keep a list of possible blog content ideas so you don’t have to struggle to create an updated blog. Keep several postings on “stand by” in case unavoidable circumstances prevent you from writing a new posting according to your blog revision schedule.

Ask your readers for their requests, comments, and opinions. Be sure to respond to comments quickly and to accommodate requests whenever you are able. This will demonstrate that you hold your readers in high regard and are sincerely interested in what they have to say. Your audience’s opinions are valuable information because you will be able make positive changes to your blog by listening to their feedback. Most people are more than willing to offer suggestions and comments, especially when it pertains to something they are involved in. Responding to your readers and taking their comments seriously will help you build a strong online community. Your audience will develop a sense of trust and loyalty towards you and your business.

Bebo Tops Most Popular Website In The UK List

Category : Blogging

Social networking sites have taken over the world with pretty much everyone in the world being a member of one. The three most popular and well – known are Bebo, Facebook and Myspace. It is hard to believe that a couple years ago social networking was almost non existent whereas today the biggest website in the UK is one of these sites.

Bebo is the most popular website in the UK and unbelievably even bigger than Google. In August Bebo had 8.6 billion page impressions whereas Google had 8.45 billion. Even stranger is that these sites don’t rely on search engine optimisation and clever search engine marketing to get visitors. In fact, if you type ’social networking website’ into Google, Myspace doesn’t feature until the second page and Bebo and Facebook aren’t even on the first 10 pages.

Bebo was founded in January 2005 by husband and wife team Michael and Xochi Birch and can now be used in most countries around the world. It is unlikely that either Michael or Xochi knew anything about search engine marketing when they first started the site. It is more likely that they had an idea which took off and they never anticipated the success it was going to have.

With Bebo being the most popular website in the UK it is the first time ever that the largest site in the UK has been run by a company that is actually based in the UK. For those who are not familiar with the website, it is a high school and college social network site than makes it easy for high school and college students to stay in touch with their current friends, find long lost friends and meet new people. As well as this you can upload photos, write blogs, add applications and much more.

The popularity of these social networking sites is attracting the attention of advertisers who can see the massive potential to reach huge audiences. With 80 percent of people who use social networks having either talked about, commented on or reviewed a brand or product on an online forum, it’s hardly surprising that advertisers are targeting them.

It is a wonder if these websites that defy all search engine marketing is going to change the way SEO works. It is evident that people aren’t typing anything into search engines when they go onto these sites which means that search engine optimisation and search engine marketing aren’t required.

At WRS search engine marketing we aim to help you get the most from your website investment and turn it into a high performance revenue channel.select the destination and package holiday that is right for you.

5 One Minute Tips for Promoting Your Blog

Category : Blogging

One of the best things about building a blog as your website is that blogs tend to rank higher in the search engines, and for some reason, they just seem easier to promote.

Before you start getting traffic to your blog though, you need to do a few things to promote it. The traffic will build on itself, and you’ll continue to get traffic even after you stop promoting it.

1. Put your blog in your email signature.

When you set up your email client, why not add a signature? Every time you send out an email, your signature will be “attached” to your message. Just make sure you write something catchy so others take the time to click through.

2. Set up a sitemap.

A sitemap is an index of all of the links of your blog. Blog software like Wordpress will create your sitemap automatically with the right plugin. The plugin generates your sitemap for you automatically.

All you have to do is add your sitemap to your Google and Yahoo accounts, and they’ll index it for you. The beauty of sitemaps is that once you submit your sitemap, your marketing is hands free. Every time you post, your sitemap updates, and the search engines are notified to index your new pages.

3. Tag your posts.

Not every blogging client will allow you to tag your posts. Some will though, and there’s even code you can use for your posts to add tags. Tags help the blog and RSS directories like Technorati to index your posts better. Just make sure you choose the appropriate tags for your post. Adding unrelated tags won’t drive targeted traffic to your site.

4. Ping your blog.

A ping lets the major blog and RSS directories know you have updated your blog. With Wordpress, you add the ping services you want to notify and Wordpress will do the rest. With other blogs it’s possible to use a ping service. Services like Pingoat and Pingomatic allow you to ping your blog manually. This works really well especially if you use a free blog service.

5. Add some badges to your blog.

Regardless of what blogging script or service you use, most will allow you to add blocks of code to your blog. Add a couple of badges from high ranking websites to help you get more traffic. Services like My Blog Log and Technorati rank very high in the search engines, and they can easily bring you traffic by helping you build a following.

Each of these tips separately will take you about a minute to do, and they can easily get you traffic. So what are you waiting for?

In fact, you will see that a lot of businesses today are now using blogs as an advertising tool that can definitely help in raking in the profits and attracting more people to buy from their business. A more detailed concept make it an advertorial which is explained as an advertisement and a tutorial.

Whatever products you are selling, you will be able to find innovative ways to write about it in blogs. Whether you are a car salesman, an insurance salesman, or an affiliate marketer, you will be able to bring out the best of your products through blogs.

Basically, the key in marketing in blog websites is to pre sell the product you are trying to sell. You need to let people buy it before they actually buy the product. By doing so, you will be able to achieve success and make your business famous. So, how can you pre sell your products through blogs?

Simple – all you need to do is make a great blog about the product that is informative, easy to read, and entertaining. Also, the technique used by most successful marketers in writing blogs is that they never aggressively sell the product telling the customer that they should buy this and that.

A successful blog should get your potential customers to think like they need to buy the product because they want it and not because you told them to. So, how can you do this?

As mentioned before, never aggressively sell the product in the blogs. Instead, try telling a story about the product as if you are the customer. First, tell them a little bit something about the product, then tell them what it did for you and what benefits you got, and lastly, you have to tell them that you are definitely and genuinely crazy about the product and that you will always buy it.

If you believe in your product, then this should not be a problem for you.

When writing blogs, you have to convince and make your readers believe just as you would believe in the product you are selling. Don’t just describe the product but tell them what it is like using the product. This is how you make readers believe.

You have to be one of them. You should never be a seller but you should be a regular person just like thosewho loves to use the product and is recommending it for everyone to use.

This is how a blog for your business should be like. And, the best part about this is that you don’t really need to work hard in marketing your product. After writing the blogs and someone came across your blog website and read your blog, and if they like what they read, they will not only purchase the product you are selling but will advertise for you for free. Always remember that recommendations by fellow customers are the best type of advertising that you can get. It’s better than TV ads as well as advertising in billboards.

Just remember to update your blogs once every week. This way, people will be able to have something more to read and really gather a lot of loyal readers and customers.

As you can see, when success is mandatory, blogging brings fame. This is guaranteed to work and as a business owner, you can be sure that blogging will definitely make your business much more famous as well as yourself.

5 Killer Blogging Strategies For Your Online Home Based Business Opportunity

Category : Blogging

Blogging has several benefits. It is quick, easy, free and a sure way to get a high search engine ranking to your online home business opportunity. You do not even need an own domain. But you have to run your online business opportunity blog in the right way.

1. Ping With The Social Bookmarking Sites.

I have used social bookmarking sites for my online home business blog since January and I have extremely good experiences. I use regularly 10 social bookmarking sites and the quickest ranking I got in some minutes.

You have to write your posts without direct advertising, because most of the bookmarking sites will cancel your membership because of advertising. Another reason is that ads do not belong to the blog, which has an informative nature.

2. Use Low Demand And Realistic Keywords.

Long tails are my favorite, because they have lower competition and my site stays on the top longer. This is important for the traffic numbers of my online home business. When you start your own online business, it is useful to do the keyword selection carefully, including the competition research.

I use normally keywords, which have around 30 daily searches and which include from 3 to 5 words. The number of keywords in my list is around 10 depending on the lengths of separate words.
For each of my articles I attach a family of keywords, i.e. all of them describe the content of the article.

3. The Unchanged Elements Of My Blog.

I see my online home business blog as a brand, which means that I keep the look and most of the longterm elements as such for a long period of time. In this way people get used to the content and learn, where they can get certain information.

4. Use Helpful Hyperlinks In The Text.

By these hyperlinks I do not mean ads but links, which fit to the content and give a necessary link of some useful product. You have to use these links very carefully, so that your readers do not think that you are selling or advertising, because no-one wants to become an object of the sales pitch.

5. Prepare A List Of Previous Posts.

This is a kind of a library, which is useful for your online home business readers. Normally the written posts do not get old, so the post list is useful for a long period of time.

Businesses Can Overwhelmingly Benefit From Blogging

Category : Blogging

So you have a website for your business and even though you are getting good amounts of traffic, the site seems somewhat a bit derelict, you decide to visit your competitor’s site and it just feels so very different from yours. Well, I can tell you now, even without looking at the site, it is probably because your competitors are actively blogging and you are not.

Blogging can reap a huge amount of rewards for your business, which we will now take a bit more of an in depth look at. First and very importantly it will help you build a brand and trust with your customers, your readers will be very interested in what you have to say, they will keep coming back again and again.

Another great advantage that you can get from blogging is that search engines will absolutely love you, keeping your blog topped up with fresh content, will not only keep your users coming back, but it will also keep the search spiders busy.

When you a trying to sell a product one of the most important factors is knowledge and trust, when consumers read your blog and they see that you do really know what you are talking about, and you are an expert in your niche, then they will have more trust in purchasing from you. Not only this but another major aspect is that blogging allows you to build relationships with your clients, instead of just blogging about the good, why not let your potential buyers know about the bad as well? This way they will know that they are dealing with honest people.

Another great aspect is the marketing side of things; blogging is probably one of the cheapest and effective forms of marketing that you can obtain. They do not cost a lot to set up and maintain and can provide amazing benefits to your business and information to your current clients.

So do not put your blog off any longer, set yourself one up and see your income explode to an unimaginable level.

How Do You Compare to Others… and Should You?

Category : Blogging

A lot of people get into blogging for money because they hear about the fantastic success some people have enjoyed. It’s hard to not envy someone who is earning 5, 6 or even 7 figures a year from their blog.

Trouble is, for many people earning the way someone else does becomes their sole focus. They do their best to copy the successful people they see around them, rather than be themselves.

The biggest problem with imitating the more successful bloggers around you is that it’s easiest to be nothing more than an imitation. You don’t stand out. And if you don’t stand out, you’re not going to get people interested in what you have to say.

It’s one thing to take occasional inspiration from those who are doing better than you are. But if that’s the only thing you do, you’ll have more trouble developing your own voice.

Be aware of what others in your niche are doing, but find ways to stand out. Take a controversial position. Have fun. Worry less about what’s working for others and figure out what works for you.

The thing about blogging is that you can learn quite a bit about what successful bloggers are doing, and still not succeed with your own blog. You’re different people, after all, and the different approaches you take to similar tasks will not get you the same results.

If you really need to compare yourself to someone, take a look at the people who are at your same level of the game. Watch the people who are doing exceptionally well, if you like, but in many ways your most direct competition comes from the people who know about as much as you do.

Even then you don’t want to focus too much on what the other people are doing. You should be focused more on what you can do.

So What Should You Be Doing?

There are some things you absolutely need to get done to succeed as a blogger.

1. Develop your own voice.

You don’t want to sound like everyone else. Be yourself. Have your own style and your own opinions. If you love covering industry news, cover it. If you don’t, leave it alone except when it catches your attention.

2. Write for your blog – a lot!

Many of the most successful blogs are posted to more than once a day. Sure you can get away with less, but you may get less attention.

Don’t overdo! You can annoy readers if you are writing so fast that you forget quality in favor of quantity. Or if you just provide too much information for them to read. There’s a balance to be struck, and it’s up to you to decide what that balance is.

3. Comment on other blogs.

Yes, this takes away from your writing time. But it’s a great way to network with your fellow bloggers and get visitors.

Don’t worry about whether the links to your site are “do follow” or “no follow.” Don’t constantly link to your own posts within the body of your comments. Don’t be self promotional in general.

Be a genuine contributor. Your comments will stick better and bring better attention to your blog.

Am I perfect with these? Heck no! I post on this particular blog far less than I should, but I have others that are more of a focus for me. I have also dropped blogging on sites that I simply do not have time for right now. As my personal life changes I may pick them back up, but for right now they’re on the back burner.

And of course I sometimes wish I could succeed as wildly as certain other bloggers. But I don’t let that get in the way of working on my blogs in my way.

What Are Tags And How Are They Used?

Category : Blogging

Some people may not know what tags are and whether they’re important or not. Well here is the long and short of it. Let’s start off with the definition. Tags are a non-hierarchical keyword or term assigned to a piece of information, such as a blog entry. This kind of metadata helps describe an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching. Tags can be chosen by the creator or by its viewers, depending on the system of course.

Within a blog tags allow authors to add free-form tags to a post, along with (or instead of) placing the post into categories. For instance, a post may display that has been tagged with “concert and tickets”. Each of those tags is usually a web link leading to an index page listing all of the posts associated with that tag. The blog may have a sidebar listing all the tags in use on that blog, with each tag leading to an index page. To reclassify a post, an author edits its list of tags. All connections between posts are automatically tracked and updated by the blog software; there is no need to relocate the within a complex hierarchy of categories.

So in layman’s terms these tags can be used to find your article when the words you used to describe your article are typed in a search engine or within the blog search tool. Very simple concept but really needed when your looking to be notice. What’s important here is to use descriptive words that shed light on the subject of your blog entry.

For example for this article I chose, blog, tags, how to, meta, spiders, SEO, and keywords. Tip: no matter where you use your tags blog, website, youtube, if your not sure what one to use remember the internet is an open book, just look for an entry close to yours in subject to get some ideas.

When searching the other articles make sure that you read them. If they are for example using the keywords that you think will bring attention to your article then use them. If comments are a part of the post read the comments as well. This may give you an indication of what information is missing from your article and what information is not needed in the articles you are searching through.

So you can see that tags can make your entry very visible or invisible based on your keywords and tags that you use. Chose wisely and you’ll come on top.

Domain Mapping: How to Control Your Blog’s Domain Name

Category : Blogging

Would you prefer to have your own domain name on your blog site instead of the domain name the blogging site provided to you? With domain mapping, you can control the domain name of your blog.

Domain mapping ensures that your blog and, consequently your website, are noticed properly by the search engines. Blogs are a great way to keep your website content fresh and interesting, both to online visitors and to search engines.

To boost your search engine results, a blog is a great way to go. But a blog on another website certainly isn’t going to help your cause. Domain mapping lets you transfer your blog over to your own domain name so that it will benefit your website and generate traffic for you instead of a blog hosting site.

Do you have a blog but no website to drive traffic to? It is in your best interests to buy a domain name and move your blog over to a personal site using domain mapping. Buying a domain name ensures that you have complete control over your blog. It prevents your blog hosting site from putting ads on your blog and making money off your writing.

If your blog is important to you, why not purchase a domain name for it? Your ideas are your own property, so they shouldn’t be sitting in someone else’s hands. Having your own domain name for your blog makes you look like a professional and polished expert in your field. Domain names can be purchased inexpensively, and your blog might just surprise you by turning from a hobby into a lucrative moneymaking website once you buy your own domain name.

Choosing a domain name does not have to be difficult. Simply pick a unique title that suits your topic matter or perhaps involves your name. Don’t be dismayed if your first or second choices are already taken. Use patience, creativity and persistence, and you are sure to find the blog domain name that is perfectly suited to your needs. Then, use domain mapping technology to route your blog to your new domain.

Domain mapping is better than simply forwarding your blog to your site. The permalinks and URL of your site will contain your domain name as opposed to your blog host’s, so you will reap all the search engine benefits and traffic available to you thanks to your blog and domain mapping.

After you purchase a domain name to house your blog, find out the specific instructions for domain mapping your blog to your domain. The instructions are available from your individual service provider. Sometimes, you can find the instructions listed elsewhere on the web by other likeminded individuals who have previously taken advantage of the domain mapping feature.

Domain mapping usually involves a nominal annual fee of about $10 to $15 a year, but the increase in your web traffic that you will see thanks to the inclusion of your blog in your domain are well worth the cost. Once your blog is in your hands, your site will benefit from its content.

Starting your Blogging Business? Find Out How

Category : Blogging

Blogging is probably one of the easiest aspects to understand in the online world. It seems as the whole world now has there own unique blog, whether this is on Word Press, MySpace or a dedicated site for themselves. A lot of potential income can be generated via blogs, so if you are struggling to monetise your own blog here are a few starting tips.

Firstly you should take a seat and carefully think about what your blog will actually be based on. For example, there’s no point writing about flowers if you know nothing about them, as you will probably end up boring all of your readers. Stick to your own niche and provide valuable unique content that users cannot find elsewhere.

Your content must be unique in all ways, if you are starting a blog and get the content wrong then you will abysmally fail. It’s just as if you are trying to run a car without petrol, it just will not work. Depending on which niche you choose, the harder it will get to crack. For example there are thousands of blogs that deliver news to there readers, getting into such a competitive industry will be hard, unless of course you take a different approach.

If you are serious about blogging, I would recommend in getting your own unique domain name and some reliable hosting. Although blogs on Word Press and other sites can be good, they cannot be taken for granted. Meaning that if it is not yours, people may not like what you are saying and removes your blog.

Once everything is up and you have been regularly blogging, one of the most important tasks will be to get targeted traffic to your site. Over the long term you should look at hiring an expert to perform SEO on your site, or if you have the relevant knowledge to do this yourself. In the short term you need to get the word out to potential readers, especially if the domain is a relatively new one. This can be in the form of social media and viral approaches.

Once everything is set and you are getting a regular flow of traffic, it is time to take the approach of monetising it. You have various options to choose from starting from affiliate programs to selling banner ads on your pages.

Whatever you decide to choose I am sure that you will be a successful blogger, a lot of people start up blogs and then neglect them after a while. To be a success you have to stick at what you love doing and in the end you will reap the rewards.
