Internet Business Success Story , From Somebody Just Like You!

Category : Internet Marketing

One of the most exciting and rewarding things about doing what I do is that I get to hear success stories from my students. Following is a success story I received recently. Check it out as inspiration and to prove that anyone can make their Internet business successful if they have the tools and take action.

Here’s the story:

I am the guy who told you in February that it took my two years to get my head right and get it done after attending your IMI event in March of 2006. I wanted to give you an update followed.

I have slowly but surely been climbing the ladder of Internet marketing success. Since my last update I have continued to make small steps and more importantly, make money. I have only cleared $2,600 in profits in the last three months. I recently made $918 of that in one day. I still work a full time job 9 hours, teach tennis for extra money from 6-8pm after work, and then go home and work on my Internet business.

I am married and raising three children. Guess what? Now I get it. I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way. If I could make $918 in one day on a list of 523 people selling a $39.95 information product, only 120 people actually opened my email, and 30 of them made sales so I can converted 25%. I know that I can make ten times that in one day with joint venture partners.

I am planning a huge launch and networking, hopefully about 30 joint venture partners, to sell my product. I am tying that product in with my new membership site. This makes me excited. Monthly recurring income will be awesome, but you’re right. Just like you talked about in the Cash Flow 101, it easier to get in the cash flow business with a team.

My question is this: Will you please tell your listeners and readers the following: Mike Littman is great and said, You don’t have to get it right. You just have to get it going. Plus, Success comes from commitment to a single idea over time. And, You’ve gotta give to get.

I wrote 15 articles for ezines and I put 15 videos on You Tube on how to play tennis. And subscribers come each day from these videos being out there. It is viral. That’s it. I have a blue print and I’m going to lather, rinse, and repeat. I am going to continue making money doing what I love, tennis. Thanks for everything, I’ll keep you posted.

It’s these kinds of stories that remind me how much I love to help people, just like you, achieve their dreams in their Internet business.

Building Authority And Search Engine Optimization For Higher Rankings

Category : Internet Marketing

In the pursuit to deliver a better Internet experience, Google, Yahoo!, and the other major search engines diligently build better algorithms for ranking websites. While link popularity (the number of incoming links that point to your website) is still a valid search engine optimization tactic, it is far less vital to good rankings than trust and authority. In other words, if your website is considered authoritative, Google and Yahoo! will place it on the first page of organic listings for the competitive keywords you pursue.

The concept of trust and authority for search engine optimization is still hard to understand for many people. This article describes how a website becomes considered authoritative and explains the steps a website owner can take to build the authority of their website to enjoy higher organic rankings.

How A Website Becomes Authoritative

The best way to understand how websites become authoritative through search engine optimization is to consider research papers. For example, if a particular research paper is cited by other research papers, it becomes credible. As more people cite the research paper, especially authorities in the same field as that of the paper, it becomes trusted and authoritative. Just like if Stephen Hawking cited a paper someone else wrote on black holes, others would consider the paper authoritative because Stephen Hawking is considered an expert in the field of black holes.

Authority through search engine optimization works in the same way. For example, when operating a website that publishes articles about golf, attracting links from Golf Digest or The Professional Golfers Association would increase the authority of your website within the field of golf. Basically, the more authority you have, the more likelihood you will place high in the organic listings of Google and Yahoo!

Building An Authoritative Website

Building an authoritative website through search engine optimization is difficult. This is why many website owners turn to an SEO company. First, you must carve out a successful keyword inventory that targets and forms the foundation of your search engine optimization efforts. This requires extensive research, competitive analysis, identifying existing authorities in your field, and knowing how well those authorities control the keywords you want to target.

Second, you must build a satisfactory number of critical incoming links to your website. Ideally, these search engine optimization links should come from websites that are authoritative within your field. It isn’t usually easy (picture trying to get Stephen Hawking to cite your research paper), but with time and effort, it can be accomplished. By slowly working to attract incoming links from trusted and relevant content websites, mildly relevant education websites (or .edu domains), and social media websites, you will grow the authority of your website. As your authority grows, as will your rankings in Google and Yahoo! for your targeted keywords.

Receiving Qualified Traffic

One of the main advantages to having an authoritative website is that the time, effort, and money invested in search engine optimization will begin to bring in qualified traffic over time. As your website ranks higher, it gains exposure and respect, which attract more incoming links. The more this happens, the more authority you gain, the more exposure to qualified traffic you receive.

Building the authority of your website is a good search engine optimization strategy. Considering partnering with an experienced Chicago SEO company, or a search engine optimization company anywhere, to deliver the best results.

Get Repeat Customers – Don’t Rely on the Sale of Just One Product

Category : Internet Marketing

If you have been involved in marketing for any length of time you have probably heard that the person most likely to buy from you is someone who has purchased before. This is so true. But if you have only one product to sell a customer you have reached the end of that revenue stream quickly unless it is some type of recurring billing product.

I see a lot of information marketers who develop a single product for a market niche. Then they immediately go to another market niche and develop a product for that niche and so on and so forth. While I am not against playing in multiple markets, I am against having only one product for each niche you are working in.

When you are always trying to get a new customer (since you have no repeat business), your cost of sale is higher. When you have a second and third and fourth product aimed at the same niche, your marketing costs for each additional product you are selling to that niche are effectively zero. It is simply a matter of emailing your customer list another offer they can take advantage of.

About a dozen years ago, I was involved in the development of a training CD for the plant engineering and maintenance market. The CD was on a highly technical topic. If memory serves me correctly, it was titled “The Rolling Bearings Troubleshooter’s Guide.” It was decided that the product would be marketed via the web.

I knew that one product would not make a company. So I negotiated deals with several technical publishers and other training developers for related books and training CDs that would be of interest to the same folks who had purchased the Rolling Bearings CD. A website was created and several millions of dollars worth of products have been sold via that site over the last 12 years.

The additional products you have to offer a market don’t even have to be your own product(s). You can offer related products from people that on the surface may appear to be competitors of yours. Find products on ClickBank that you can sell to your list.

People are thirsty for knowledge and many will purchase almost everything they find on a certain subject. If you have only one product to sell them you are leaving a lot of money on the table. Don’t close the door to repeat business.

No Research to Check the Viability of Your Desired Market

Category : Internet Marketing

Some people fall so in love with their idea for an information product that they are totally oblivious as to whether or not a market even exists for that product. Now, if you are truly passionate about a subject and you just want to write a book for your own self-satisfaction, that’s fine. Go right ahead.

But if you are writing a book or developing a home study course, you’d better be sure that the market is even interested in your subject. So how do you determine the potential viability of a market?

The list below is not all-inclusive, but it will give you some excellent starting points.

1. Examine the trade journals that serve your industry. Go to your local library and ask for their guide to periodicals. This will identify those magazines that serve your industry. Get a hold of some of their back issues by requesting their media kit. Look through the ads to see if similar products are being offered to your market. You can also pick up issues on the magazine rack at your local bookstore. You should subscribe to those publications that are in your niche.

2. Google your topic and research the Internet to see what competitive products already exist in the marketplace. Remember, competition is not a bad thing. If nobody is offering an information product on your subject you may have uncovered a hidden niche. But, more than likely, you have uncovered a niche that hasn’t proven profitable so no one is playing in it.

3. Use online research tools such as “GoodKeywords” or “WordTracker” in order to identify what keywords and keyword phrases people are searching for online. This will help you gauge the potential size of the market you’re trying to reach. If very few people are looking for the subject you want to write about you’ve got a problem on your hands.

4. If you have an existing list, survey them using an online survey tool like “ASKDatabase” to see what level of interest they might have in your new subject.

It is foolish to jump into a market blindly if you are entering that market with the thought of making money in it. Make sure that you take the time to do your research in advance so that you don’t waste a bunch of your time and money chasing a market that doesn’t exist. What you do today can save you money tomorrow.

Overproducing on an Initial Product Launch to Try and Save a Few Cents on the Per Unit Product Costs

Category : Internet Marketing

I’ve seen it time and time again, especially with new authors getting a book published for the first time. They become so consumed with getting the lowest possible unit cost on the printing of their new book they order 5000 copies right out of the gate. So instead of paying $3.98 or $4.98 per book they get the unit price down to $2.98. Hooray, they saved a dollar or two per copy.

What happens next? 100 cases of books weighing 40 pounds or more each arrive at their home. They get stacked in the corner of the bedroom or in the garage, and there they sit, month after month after month. Sure, a few cases are opened and some books ship, but you’re continually stepping around boxes and cursing yourself for ordering so many books.

You’ve tied up thousands of dollars in inventory that you hope you can sell. Hey, but you saved $1 or $2 per book.

If you’re producing a “big box” package, you might also save some on the unit cost by producing more initially. But, unless you have a proven track record and can pretty accurately predict how many units you can sell, you’re better off spending more per unit and having a lower quantity produced initially.

“Big box” packages can cost $30 to over $100 depending on what all is included in your package. So, you can conceivably tie up tens of thousands of dollars in production for units you hope you can sell – all because it saved you some money on the per-unit cost.

But what do you do if you sell more product than you expected?

Have a plan in place to deal with your customers in case your product launch is more successful then you anticipated. If you ask your fulfillment house to produce 100 sets of a product for a launch and then you sell 300, you’ve created a potential problem you’ll have to deal with to keep your customers happy. Turnaround times for additional production can be several days or more.

It is recommended you have some digital component to your package that people can begin to read or listen to right away while they are awaiting arrival of the physical package. Or, if the package price justifies it, pull out a disc or small manual that can be shipped immediately to keep them happy until the “big box” arrives. Produce more of these up front than the full packages so you can immediately fulfill a portion of the package to all your customers.

It’s primarily a matter of managing customer expectations. If you keep your customers informed about the status of things proactively, you can significantly reduce any possible negatives that can result from having customers in a back order scenario.

Working on Multiple Products Sounds Like a Good Idea but Delays Revenue Generation

Category : Internet Marketing

As an information marketer, you will have no shortage of great ideas. Oh, if I only had as many minutes in a day as I have great ideas… It’s great to have a variety of product ideas but if you want to start generating cash sooner rather than later, you need to stay focused.

Here is what typically happens to many information marketers when they are first starting out. They do some research and determine they have viable products they can develop in multiple markets. So they begin writing an ebook or developing a course on chinchilla farming, raising cacti, earthworms, and who knows what else all at the same time.

Their thought process is like this. “I’ll just work a little each day on each of my eight projects, and before long, I’ll have a great big library of information products that I’ll be making money on.”

So they work a little while each day on their chinchilla-farming book. Then they switch over to their book on raising cacti. After a while, they tire of that, so they begin some work on their great new ebook on earthworms. And so on and so on.

By utilizing this approach, you delay the completion of any individual project for some period of time. So nothing is making you any money because everything is still in a state of development. If each project takes a month to complete, you’re effectively delaying any possible revenue inflow until at least four months down the road if you’re working on four projects simultaneously.

And, invariably, something that you think will take a week ends up taking two or more. So maybe those four months becomes six or seven or eight. You are hemorrhaging cash, and nothing is coming in.

What is a better plan? Focus on one and get it done. Get it out in the market to begin generating you revenue. Then move on to the second project and repeat the process. That way you have one project generating revenue after month one, another generating revenue after month two, another generating revenue after month three, etc.. No waiting until month four to get anything coming in at all.

That is if you’re doing all the work yourself. Experienced information marketers know they don’t have to do all the product creation themselves. They use ghostwriters and other resources to help them generate more products more quickly. This is where you want to get to. Just be sure when you’re starting out you don’t get sucked into the multiple project trap.

6 Tips on Using Social Media for Internet Marketing Newbies

Category : Internet Marketing

With the kind of tough competition you’ll have to face as an internet marketing business person, it’s important that you are aware of all the techniques available to improve your business and increase your earnings. If you’re an internet marketing newbie, optimizing social media can help you expand your audience and build your internet home business. Social media can be an effective and inexpensive means to establish yourself as long as you know how to use it.

How social media works

Social media helps you attain greater exposure to your audience, especially those you have already targeted. Like search engines, social media can help you promote your content and gain better visibility in the internet. Furthermore, it’s not a dead end. Promoting your content to your audience using social media lets your audience pass it on to others, particularly to people who belong to their social network.

Using social media in internet marketing

When you’re using the internet for profit, it’s important that you look at tools like social media as a means, not an end. Meaning, these tools will only be as effective as your content is good. Before going ahead and using social media, there are things that should already be in place, including:

-your site (should be usable and easy to navigate)

-content (should be existing on your site and should offer quality)

-your site’s management system (should let you manage content effectively)

Once you have the basics ready, you can begin expanding your reach. Here are ways internet marketing newbies can use social media to their advantage:

Choose the right social media.

Determine the type of industry or topic you want to be involved in and design your internet marketing efforts around it. Once you know the type of topic you want to engage in, it will be a lot easier to use which social media to choose. Whether you use videos, images, audio, articles or collaborative write-ups, it will be a lot easier for you to find the right kind of platform from which to promote your work.

Create relevant content.

Quality is of course, a very important consideration but so is relevance. Your content could be well-researched and well-written but if your visitors don’t find it useful, it will only be ignored.
Create content that’s highly prized by your target audience to encourage them to return to your site, recommend it and link up to it. More importantly, create content that your visitors will find worth distributing to the members of their social network. Keep your content updated.

Content can only be relevant as long as people find it so. Otherwise, it will outlive its usefulness. Do research to find out about changes in your industry or topic. Offer fresh information to keep your visitors interested and encourage them to spread your content.

Use more than one social medium if necessary.

You don’t have to limit yourself to just one social medium; there are several you can use at one time blogging, podcasting, discussion forums, networking, bookmarking, wikis, etc. Determine which type works best for your internet business and which one you do best.

If you’re uncomfortable with a certain social medium but find that it will be beneficial for your brand of internet marketing, hire someone to do it for you. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity just because you haven’t the time or the talent for it.

Direct the traffic to your site.

Yes, you still need traffic. How else will you be able to let them know you exist? Use all the tricks of the trade search engine optimization, quality content, link baiting, etc.
Build your network.

The social media thrives on strong networks. The larger it is and the more quality members it has, the better chances you’ll get. A strong network is extremely beneficial as an internet marketing tool not only because it promotes your internet marketing business to more people, but also because it allows you to gain foothold and influence in a very dynamic market.

Build a quality network. Find out which members produce better contacts or mean more business for you. For an internet marketing newbie, this may sound a little overwhelming but once you’re used to it, you’ll realize how advantageous it can be. Besides, all internet marketers have to start somewhere. Meet people and build friendships through social media. You not only get important information and updates about your business, you also get valuable feedback, which you can use later to improve your site, product and services.

Are You Interested In Affiliate Programs?

Category : Affiliate Programs

Be sure to put your mind at rest before joining an affiliate program and ask questions. Do a bit of research about the choices of program that you want to join into. Know all about the affiliate program will help your future success so find out what you need. Most affiliate programs being offered today are absolutely free of charge. There is little point in joining an affiliate program that charges you.

A questions to ask, is when do I get paid? Some issue their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Select the one that is suited to your payment time choice. Commissions are paid out by some companies after the affiliate has achieved a certain amount of funds, or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the median number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This is a very good stat because it allows you to calculate how much traffic you will need before you can earn a commission from the sale.

Determining how sales are tracked from you site and how long you have to make the sale are important you want to be confident on the program enough to track those people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you can credit for a sale.

The time a visitor to your site stays in the system is vital. This is because some visitors do not buy initially but may want to return later to make the purchase. It’s a good idea to make sure you know all about an affiliate program before incorporating it into your site.

Getting highly targeted traffic to the affiliate program will be the biggest challenge you face. But the need for proper groundwork is a common thread running through all that’s been said here. If you need to prove as a credible seller, you need to have your personalized website.

An affiliate program you promote doesn’t need you to have your own website you may sell goods without even creating a site of your own, it helps building trust and is considered beneficial in the longer run. It is not necessary to have the best looking website just a simple one and a means of spreading the message across would be sufficient.

Category : Affiliate Programs

There are a host of affiliate marketing programs available for you to choose from today. Some are neophytes new to the market, others have a record of accomplishment and are very popular programs. Before you decide which affiliate program to align yourself with, take the time to investigate what each offers.

You may decide to stick with an affiliate program in a certain niche. You may also decide to form affiliate relationships with a variety of programs. You may want to choose affiliate programs that complement each other, while still being in a different niche from each other. That’s the beauty of the great variety of programs out there.

We’ll take a quick look here at three affiliate programs to give you an overview of what they provide. Two are article marketing affiliate programs and one is a bookselling and other merchandise affiliate program. While just a small sampling of what is out there, these will give you an idea of how affiliate programs operate.

The article distribution service called iSnare has a basic affiliate or referral program. In essence, their affiliate program earns you credits so you do not have to pay to get your own article writing efforts distributed by them. iSnare charges a fee to submit articles for affiliate marketers and others. However, if you become an affiliate and promote their service you can forgo these fees.

Here’s how it works. For each person you refer to iSnare who registers and purchases distribution credits, you earn credits. If someone purchases a five article distribution package, you will receive a free article distribution yourself. If someone, you refer, purchases a forty article distribution package you will receive six free article distributions. In this way, you can perform an article marketing campaign and pay little or nothing for it, as your referrals pay your way. iSnare does not pay in actual cash each month to an affiliate.

Amazon.com has a referral program. Affiliates in their program receive up to fifteen percent commission on sales they refer. They offer a performance-fee pay structure or a classic fee structure. With the performance based option the higher your referrals, the greater your earnings will be. Their classic fee structure is a fixed-referral-rate plan. You earn a four percent referral fee on items offered by Amazon or by third parties.

Amazon.com pays their affiliate partners on a monthly basis. They provide their affiliates a portal where they can view traffic and earnings reports. It’s a place where affiliates can read the latest news and opportunities available to them. They update this portal daily so the information is current. Amazon.com provides their affiliates formatted links, which they can put on their websites or blogs.

Article Marketer, an article distribution service, has their affiliate program. They offer multi-tier commissions to their affiliate members. As an affiliate with them, you will earn twenty-five percent commissions on any Article Marketer subscription sales you generate. You will also earn a five percent commission whenever someone you refer as an affiliate makes a sale.

Article Marketer gives credit for commissionable sales to an affiliate whenever they occur. If one of your customers comes back a year later to purchase, you still get credit for the sale. They offer real time tracking of your orders and commissions as well. In addition, Article Marketer pays their affiliate members on a monthly basis.

When it comes to promoting Article Marketer on your websites and blogs, the company offers many tools. They provide banners, linking codes, special offers, and promotions. Surge Up In Search Engine Rankings Using The Author Resource Box Wisely

Category : Article Marketing

Why is the author resource box so important?
Your author resource box is your best website marketing sales tool in article marketing. This resource box contains the highest return content in your article. Your author resource box holds the key to
* Building your creditability,
* Connecting your reader to your website,
* Converting your reader to a regular visitor of your website, and
* Expanding your sales team without adding salaries or benefits.

Where is the author resource box?
The author resource box is usually located at the bottom of your article, immediately following your content. It’s a concise, quick link to you, your background and your website. It is here, in this powerful little box, that you take credit for your article and establish yourself as a recognized expert in your field. And, within your resource box you will provide valuable links for your reader to access your website. Your resource box is a portal into your website, increasing your search engine results and growing your business.

How does the resource box connect the reader and your website?
Your reader has purposely searched out topics related to your article. Since you’ve already provided great content in your article, your reader will want to continue the quest for more articles, or maybe even buy your products. If you guide your reader into your resource box straight from your article, your reader is already in a mindset to immediately link to your website.

How can my author resource box entice readers to follow my website link?
The most important job of your resource box is to provide a call to action to your reader. Consider your author resource box equal to your closing paragraph on a sales or marketing letter. The resource box wraps up your article and leads your reader to the next step. It is here that you extend a creative, enticing invitation to your reader to link to your site for more information on your article content, as well as additional information, products or services the reader will find within your site.

What should my author resource box include to get the best reader response?
1. Your name, as author and a short description of your background. For example, “John Smith is owner and consultant of ABC Computers. He writes a monthly column for IT Magazine and consults with clients to troubleshoot computer issues.”

2. Your specific website URL address. This is the only place in your article where you can use actual HTML code. For the most effective use of your URL link, connect to a page within your site that gives the reader information similar to what was contained in the article they just read. If a viewer has searched for a particular article topic, it’s almost certain that they will be looking for more of the same type information within your site. Your website URL will be their link to that information and to your expertise.

3. Your sales pitch. Here’s where you get to be creative. You’ll need to provide your reader a reason to take action, entice them to go to your website and lead them to valuable resources within your site. You might offer a free report, a related article, a newsletter subscription or a link to your blog. To get more mileage out of your resource box, develop multiple versions of your sales pitch and use it on different articles. Test the effectiveness of each resource box by the number of responses you receive.

4. Anchor text word links. You can also insert second and third links to your website within your author resource box text. Convert important, related words within your resource box into hyperlinks. Connect the anchor text hyperlinks to different pages within your website. This gives your reader multiple avenues into your site, exposes them to different pages that might be of interest to them and gives you one more exposure to your reader. But be careful of multiple text hyperlinks if you have a specific click through goal. Too many links can cause your reader to be confused.

An effective resource box will increase your website traffic and provide your reader with additional references. Your website becomes a valuable resource for the reader. The reader becomes a regular visitor of your site. We all know good things come in small boxes. Don’t neglect that all important author resource box at the bottom of your article.

Why Article Marketing is Important in SEO?

Category : Article Marketing

SEO or search engine optimization is a practice done for achieving high ranks in the search engine results. It also then links with other activities that are necessary for a website to raise itself in the rush of websites found on Internet. Article is important for a website, not only in the sense that it increases the traffic, but also that it helps creating links density further among other websites. The Google page ranking prefer the websites or the WebPages to the domains of websites so in this case of optimization the article marketing proves to be good.

Article marketing is held in three different methods that are common and reliable. It can also be said that the variety of articles are marketed according to its field. Anyhow it is processed through your resource box or sometimes called bio. Basically the article directories enlist your information by adding one or two URLs. This apart portion comes in three ways, that is either by adding resource at the bottom of your article, or by adding a paragraph at the end of the article or by adding the biography of the author of the article at the end of it. So by doing any of these practice will make your article introduce to the readers and they will prompt you once or frequently to reach you.

The purpose of the this marketing is to get you exposed out in the text form throughout the Internet. This will help many people reach you, by reading your given information in the article. The article can be related to any product or service, and its related topics. A lot of objectives are kept in front before writing an article, the main point is to hit the reader’s mind that is the article must have convincing power and is written in the simple form.

This way of marketing is helpful in getting your website known by majority of the reader’s audiences and more and more people click on your website link. In a way it helps in increasing sales and fame in the commercial Internet. Thus this formula goes parallel, the more article marketed, the more promotion attained and the more high rank is achieved. One important point to note down is that when writing articles not all the information and the knowledge is provided in the article. This is because if the reader will get all the desired information in the article he will of course feel not necessary to visit your website. Thus the article marketing is basically done to bring people and the searchers to reach your website. It is smartly prepared to make the reader finally click on your website to get his complete desired information.

Though the last given method of marketing is usually not favored, but there are a lot of random methods used in the article directories to attract people and get their related information.

Article marketing is an important activity in seo, it has its won role and at many times only article marketing gets the backbone of stand or downfall of a particular website. Self-creativity is necessary for article writing so that the purpose of article marketing gets wonderfully successful and also it is important to expose your website in front of different people in different methods.

The article marketing should be done in a smart way to bring people’s attention towards your website, the article marketing at its place if is good, its written form also matters a lot because if the marketing is held correctly and the written form is boring and flat then one doesn’t receive a healthy and wealthy out put of article marketing.

An autoresponder email service is a great way to maintain contact with your visitors who have subscribed to find out more. You will be able to follow up with them and provide further information on the services or products that you offer. You will find on most websites that many offer a free newsletter to their subscribers.

You will no doubt have noticed when looking at other websites that towards the top of the site you will nearly always see a form that a visitor can fill in. You will find that such things as a free newsletter, free e-books, free training or even free products are offered in return for providing their name and email address.

Be sure to provide a valid email address when completing the form, to ensure you receive the free information being offered. The details you provide are then added to the mailing list and you will receive regular emails from the webmaster of the site you subscribed to.

If your website does not already have a lead capture form on it which visitors can fill in, you can easily set one up by subscribing to an autoresponder email service such as GetResponse or AWeber.

Autoresponders are extremely valuable e-mail marketing tools which can be used in various ways. Not only are they used to sign up subscribers but you can then send them your messages at preset time intervals, track your subscribers and sales. In order to add the lead capture form to your website all you have to do is paste some html code, that you will be provided with, into the source code of your website.

The top of the website is the best place to position a lead capture form. This way your visitors will see it as soon as your website opens. Be sure to always offer a free incentive to subscribe. You could also consider using a fly-in on your website which will contain the lead capture form.

Once a visitor has filled in the lead capture form their details are automatically added to the auto-responder. Automatically then the auto-responder sends the subscriber an email thanking them for signing up and inviting them to opt-in to the mailing list so that they receive your messages. This is called double opt-in and this procedure ensures that you build a permission-based mailing list and protects you against being accused of spamming. This really is important as you can have your website shutdown for spamming.

Once the subscribers receive the first email they are required to click a link in the email message which will opt them into your service. Once that step has been taken the subscriber will begin to receive your messages, which you will have preloaded into your auto-responder and set it to mail them out at pre-determined intervals, such as every 3 days. This then ensures that each new subscriber receives a similar series of messages from you at regular intervals for as long as the subscription remains active or the last newsletter has been sent.

You are able to add to the messages in your auto-responder at any time and it is a good idea to add your own articles to the newsletter series too.

From the above it can be seen that auto-responders are very powerful tools for Internet marketers to use. You are not limited to having just one newsletter. You are able to set up many campaigns in your auto-responder such as follow-up emails providing information on each product you sell or even a series of training emails for your downline.

You will find also that you have an option to send out what is commonly called a Broadcast to your subscribers. This could be about an important product announcement or time-limited special offers.

By subscribing to an auto-responder email service and compiling a newsletter you will have a very powerful resource to turn targeted visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers as well as ensuring your business runs 24/7 on autopilot.

The Re-Emergence Of Google Cash

Category : Pay Per Click

It happens every time, Goggle sneezes and internet marketing catches a cold. The last sneeze was in December of 2005 and by mid last year the internet was reeling with flu. That December, the official Adword blog warned of an update in its algorithm that was going to affect PPCs landing pages. Adword is the Pay Per Click (PPC) arm of Google. PPC on the other hand is the bidding system of advertising used by the major search engines to sell adverting space. The price is set by competitive bidding and the advertiser only pays if a visitor clicks the advert and visits their website hence the name. The page to which the ad directs you in the advertiser’s website is what is called the landing page.

The blog post titled “New Addition To Quality Score” detailed the latest addition to the algorithm that implemented the new landing page quality score. Though quality score was nothing new in Adword, it previously only affected the quality of advertisement. For example if one wrote an advert about “atkins diet” and bid for a keyword like “plus size lingerie”, the quality score was considered high as long as the advert was getting clicked on. A high quality score always inclines you to paying less for a bid as Google finds you more relevant. With the update, it was expected that your keywords, your advert and your landing page be consistent.

This then would mean that in the case mentioned above, the quality score would drop as the landing page was considered not well related to the keyword. Indeed this was a real life scenario where adverts on weight loss were converting sales on the keyword “plus-size lingerie”. With the update, prices for weight loss ads to this keyword were jacked up as high as ten times making the keyword instantly unprofitable. Google had sneezed and the domino effect christened “Google Slap” was here. The resulting effect nearly six moths after it implementation caused such an out cry especially among those that pre-dominantly buy their web visitors. One such victim was a business model popularized by Chris Carpenter known as “Google Cash”.

Google Cash is a business model that entirely depends on PPCs. It is probably the fastest and may be the easiest way to make money online. All one need is to join a commission paying affiliate program, a credit card and an adword account. With these three you could be making money in less than an hour. Its success or failure depends on how well one can mange their keywords and bidding. But with the landing page quality score it looked for while like “Google Cash” was coming to an end. However nearly a year since the “Slap”, Google Cash is making a come back, albeit sophisticated. Starting next week we look at how to make money using PPCs as well as the Google Cash method.

The Importance Of Knowing Your Audience When Marketing Online

Category : Search Engine Marketing

Internet marketing is quickly becoming one of the most popular advertising options available. The Internet reaches a worldwide audience and is available 24 hours a day. For this reason more and more potential customers are turning to the Internet for a variety of reasons including researching products and services and making purchases.

As more and more consumers turn to the Internet for these reasons, it is important for businesses to establish an online presence. This is so important because failure to do so may result in their competitors gaining an edge over them in competing for sales.

While it is important for business to begin Internet marketing campaigns it is also important for these same businesses to realize basic advertising principles still exist and they cannot neglect these principles.

Most importantly those who advertise online have to be aware of who their target audience is and how to reach this audience.

As with any marketing campaign, business owners should do some market research before they launch their Internet marketing campaign. Ideally this will involve hiring a research consultant with a great deal of experience in conducting and evaluating this type of market research.

The results of this research should determine the basic demographical information for the target audience. The results should also include information on how to reach this target audience. A business that cannot afford to hire a consultant to conduct this market research should still make an effort to obtain this information on their own.

This can be done through informal polls of current clients. This information may not be as comprehensive as the information obtained in a more formal study but it can still provide a great deal of insight into the best way to reach the target audience.

Once this information is obtained, it is important to tailor the Internet marketing campaign to appeal to the target audience. There are a number of different variables which can be modified to ensure the right message is reaching the right people in a manner they can understand and in which they can relate.

Some of the ways in which your Internet marketing campaign can be tailored in this way include the aesthetics of your website or advertisements, the wording of your copy and the use of more advanced design features such as audio and visual or interactive tools.

The aesthetic appeal of a website can greatly contribute to how the website is viewed by the members of the target audience. A website which is designed to attract the attention of an older generation with more conservative tastes should include muted colors, clean design and conservative graphics.

This will help to ensure the target audience enjoys the website. Conversely if you are looking to appeal to a younger audience with more liberal viewpoints you might chose to design the website with bold colors, eye catching graphics and creative design features.

The copy you include on your website should also take your target audience into consideration. Consider the examples of a conservative and a liberal audience listed above to create a better understanding of how the copy on your website can appeal to the target audience.

When marketing to a more conservative audience, the copy should be tailored to use formal language and use facts to back up viewpoints. However, when you are marketing to a more liberal audience or a younger audience you can consider using less formal language which is likely to appeal to the target audience. You can also focus more on emotion to express viewpoints.

Finally, when a website is created for the purposes of Internet marketing it is important for the design of the website to appeal to the target audience. You may wish to include audio and video clips on your website but these clips should appeal to the target audience.

For example if your website sells skateboards you might consider incorporating audio clips from punk rock bands as opposed to country music bands. There may be some skateboarders who enjoy country music but in general punk rock music more closely represents the skating culture. Keeping these details in mind is very important for Internet marketing.

How To Get Internal Pages Cached Quickly

Category : Search Engine Optimization

So what’s cached?

If you visit Googl and find your website, you can click on cached link. That will open new window and at the top it will tell you last time spiders actually visited that page.

If they visited the page like a year ago – something is not very well with that page. They should come often, like every 1-2 weeks.

So how to index first of all internal pages and then get spiders to crawl them regularly?

First of all any page you have on your website should be linked at least one time from some other page.

The content of the page – if it’s a duplicate content of something already on your website or external website – make content unique and relevant to your site.

Meta tags, make them unique – unique meta title and description at least, descriptive to the page.

Create xml sitemap and submit it to Google. Create website sitemap and list all pages neatly and organized.

Remember here you are not trying to trick search engines, whatever you do you must input quality factors, your visitors in mind.

Those are the most common things why your pages are not indexed.

Let spiders move from page to page easily so they find all your pages. A website sitemap helps a lot.

You can also get backlinks to the pages that are not indexed. Probably the best way from articles so link to inner pages as well in bio section, sometimes.

Indexing internal pages is a matter of allowing spiders to reach them, showing spiders the content is worth indexing and valuable for users and telling spiders that other people or websites like the content (they are linking to it) by getting backlinks.

Adding fresh content on your website is the reason why your website cached copy is fresh. If it’s old, like a year ago that spiders last visited your website you have to add more fresh content.

Nothing special here, no hidden secrets, if your website is not having quality for your visitor why do spiders have to index or visit it regularly anyway?

Spiders come to see if you have anything new on your site.

Pinging blog is a way to call them if you add something new on your blog… always ping if you add new posts something spiders will see. Don’t call them if you just added a new picture.

I ping after posting always. There are many free pinging tools to use.

All blogs have an rss or atom feed too, which you can add to the pinging too. I also ping my content not just the blog. If I add really useful content that I think spiders should see quickly, I ping the page as well. Not just the blog.

That helps generate spider activity.

Increase Your Internet Profits

Category : Building Traffic

It is very important that you understand what cost-per-action means. It is paying for advertising where you only pay when the customer clicks through to your website. If they see your ad and do not click through then you do not pay.

Calculate Benefit:

You should understand how to calculate the program’s effect on your budget. This is something you can start doing once you get up and running.

Track Effectiveness:

Most programs offer you some way to track the effectiveness. You will want to stay on top of this so you can make sure that you are not wasting money.

Be Precise:

Make sure you write good ads. Even though you do not pay for running the ad, but only when someone clicks on it, that does not mean you do not want people to click on it. That is the whole point and what you are trying to get to happen.

Choose Keywords Wisely:

You will choose your keywords to associate with your ad. You need to do plenty of research and make sure you are choosing the right keywords.

Investigate the Company:

Make sure that the company you are using is a reliable company with a good reputation. Make sure they are worth the investment and can turn over results for you.

Make Use of the Tools Included:

Most programs come with a range of tools. Some offer tools that help you with keywords, writing your copy, and tracking results. Use all the tools to get the most from the program.

Target Your Market:

Do not forget your target market. Keep them in mind when choosing keywords and writing your copy. Even though you will likely be exposed to your target market through good keyword choices, you still want to stay focused on them as you would with any marketing efforts.

Understand the 24/7 Market:

You probably already understand that your online efforts are continuous. They go 24/7 and they are going to be reaching all types of people. Make sure that even though you are aiming for a target market that there are more possibilities out there.

Don’t Drop the Ball:

You need a good website to back up your ads. Make sure you do not let the customer slip through your hands by not presenting them with a compelling website.

Carry Through and Ask for the Sale:

Make sure you do not waste money on your ads by not asking for the sale once they click through. You should be upfront and have it right there on the page that they go to.

Look for Competitive Pricing:

Shop around and see where you can get the best prices.

Watch the Competition:

Keep an eye on what your competition is doing. You need to make sure that you keep up with them.

Use Different Formats:

When you use multiple ads, do not make them all copies of each other. Try out different tactics and use different ideas.

Promote One Product:

Make each ad target one product. Do not try to sell everything in one ad.

Use as Many Keywords as Possible:

Associate your ads with as many keywords as you can. Choose good keywords and use the best ones. This way you get the best exposure with the top keywords.

Building Your Business Website, How To Outsource This Task

Category : Internet Marketing

Running an Internet business involves a multitude of tasks, decisions, and operations. Many Internet businesses are one man shows. However, if you want to make the big money then your goal should be to build an Internet business empire. At the heart of your Internet venture is your business website. You probably didn’t go to college for web design nor did you learn on your own. Maybe you don’t even want to touch this task. The good news is that you can outsource this task.

This leads us to our question on outsourcing the building of your business website.

Question: Where is the best place to find somebody to build a business website? I don’t know how I want the design of the website to look. I just need somebody to build the structure.

Answer: First, let’s look at how you can communicate what you want to a freelancer. The cheapest and easiest option is to come up with words that will go on your website. For example, draw on a piece of paper the structure you want.

If you want a business website or a branding website then tell the freelancer that you want a Home page, About Us page, Contact Us page, etc. The key is to draw out the exact pages and tabs you want on the website. This will give the freelancer a definite idea of what you need. It can help them to give you a more accurate bid and time frame for the project as well.

Once you are considering or have selected their bid, give them the copy for each of the pages. Tell them to take these words and put them in the proper places. Let them work out the layout, structure, and graphics.

As far as where to go to find the freelancers, let me tell you that I have never used Guru. Just post a project that tells the Freelancers that you need a great looking website with X number of pages including (What we talked about above.)

Tell them you will provide them with all the copy, they just have to set up the structure and design. Also in the project description make sure to say This is a simple and easy task for anybody that has built a website.

Scroll through the bids on Elance to find your match. Check out their portfolio, rating, and bid amount before you select their bid. Ask for a mock up before you start working together.

These are tips that should help you find the freelancer you need to create the business website of your dreams!

Online Passive Income with Solid Business Concepts

Category : Internet Marketing

If you folks are really serious about earning an online income and starting some kind of business that you can eventually receive a residual income from then you better start thinking of some solid ideas right about now.

If you’re interested in this area of study then you’ve probably noticed that a recent trend on the internet has started. Basically anyone and everyone are teaching each other about how to successfully earn money on the internet. This is fine and definitely some of the people out there actually do make money online but I want to talk about today is how long term are most of these money making trends.

You see what a lot of people out on the web are teaching is to build up your internet income around mini websites that focus on a niche. My current thinking is that unless these websites actually have some real value they won’t make money in the future on the internet.

This method has been ok and made some people a small fortune. It won’t last for long though. Recently search engines like Google are already starting to let their users choose what search results they see as well as vote and comment on websites they find.

What does this all mean? Well basically if your website doesn’t provide true value to the users that find you eventually you’re website won’t get picked up by search engines no matter how many links you have built or how well you understand SEO.

You need to put yourself in the shoes of internet users. When you go online and do a search for some information, service, or product that is what you want to find right? You don’t want to arrive at a website with garbage content that doesn’t solve your problem and is plastered with advertising.

So what I’ve decided to start to preach to my readers is that if you want to earn passive income online then you really need to think about how you are going to do that before you start out. Think of an area you are interested in and then develop a website, blog, product, or service that offers value to your readers based on that.

We as online business people really need to think about the internet as a business and how we can help improve it. Although you can make some money from putting out websites and blog that don’t offer real quality just ask yourself how long will that business idea actually sustain for and will it make you residual income in the future?

Some Successful Tips For The Online Affiliate Marketer

Category : Affiliate Programs

Some affiliate marketers out there feel that the market makes or breaks the bank with them. What truly establishes a successful affiliate marketer is the differences in their online marketing practices.

There are certain practices that have proven successful over the years and that is what we are here to discuss.

When it comes to websites, have a singular website for each product you are promoting. Do not lump all of your products on to one page just to save space. Each website should focus on its own product.

On your websites it is good to have a product review so visitors can understand what the product can to for them. It should list the benefits as well as the features.

It can be text, but audio and video reviews are very popular because of the manner in which they grab attention. Include testimonials from your customers with their names and photos if possible.

Have articles on your webpages highlighting the benefits and uses of the products. These can be snippets that link the to a separate article page. Make sure your article headlines are attractive and compelling.

Include in the articles calls to actions. Mostly you need to tell your potential customer exactly what you want them to do, down to and including when to get out their credit cards and when to order.

Use auto responders on your website to capture your visitor and follow up with them. You can offer free reports or ebooks.

Rarely is a sale made from a one time visit to a website, so it is important you capture their contact info to follow up.

I can not stress how important this is, it has been shown that sales are not often made until the 7th contact with the prospect.

Position your auto responder form some where near the top of your web site, or use a pop in hover ad that follows the reader down the page.

When you follow up you are reminding them of the products on your sites that they may have thought about buying. Give them compelling reasons why the products you are promoting are worth buying.

You want to make it sound like your products can make their lives easier. People are often looking to have a need filled in an easy fun manner.

Try not to use the word free because a lot of spam filters out there that will send your mail to the junk bin with those words and your messages will never be read.

You want to target your market with your articles. Send them to ezines and directories that target the market you are seeking. Don’t send them to markets that have no interest in what you are promoting.

Put out a minimum of 2 articles per week anywhere from 400 to 600 words in length. By continually exposing your affiliate products with new articles you may end up with hundreds of visitors a day.

Remember out of a hundred visitors who make it to your affiliate site, maybe only 1 percent will buy, so the more articles you put out the better.

The tactics I have just explained to you are not very difficult, but they do require effort on your part. If you take no action then you will receive no return.

These are tried and proven marketing tips for the successful affiliate marketer. If you practice them, your affiliate marketing checks will be bigger for sure.

The 3 Keys to Directory Submission

Category : Directories

If you are an internet business owner then you are already aware of the importance of SEO, or search engine optimization. SEO is comprised of many different tasks such as link building, article marketing, and keyword placement. But there’s one other SEO tactic that you may not have thought of yet, and that’s directory submission.

A directory is simply a listing of websites broken down by category and subcategory. If a user wants to learn more about a particular subject “let’s use fly fishing as an example” he simply finds a directory and searches for the term “fly fishing.” He is immediately shown a listing of websites related to fly fishing, as well as other categories that he can search to narrow down his results.

If you are a business owner, you simply submit your site to the directory and wait for it to be listed. Then the next person who searches for the term “fly fishing” will be directed to your site!

There are two great advantages to using directories. The first is that directory submissions help build your inbound links. Search engines value one-way links over reciprocal links, so directory submissions will increase your search engine ranking simply by providing you with one-way links. The second advantage is that you get targeted traffic to your site. If a person has found you in a directory, then you can be certain that he was searching for information related specifically to your product or service. Take advantage of directory listings by following these keys:

1.Free or paid directories? While you should definitely take advantage of free directories, you might find that some paid directories are good investments as well. Paid directories will get your site listed more quickly than free directories, and those listings will probably last longer on paid directories than on free directories. So choose some of each to maximize your potential.

2. Niche or general directories? Niche directories are those that are related specifically to your product or service. They guarantee targeted traffic and can help you build up great inbound links if other people find your information valuable. You can find directories related to your market niche with a simple internet search. General directories are also a good investment because many of them have typically been around longer than most niche directories. Search engines reward inbound links from older, more well-established websites, so be sure you submit your site to some general directories that have been around for awhile. Your best bet is to submit to both niche directories and general directories.

3. Take your time. Search engines reward natural link-building with higher search engine rankings, which means that it’s imperative for you to take your time when submitting to directories. If you add your URL to a hundred directories in one day, search engines will penalize you for not building links naturally. However, if you submit to several directories two or three times per month, your link-building will appear natural and will be rewarded by search engines.

Directory submission is no doubt one of the best and simplest ways to increase your search engine rank and drive traffic to your site. The major drawback is that directory submission can be a tedious and time-consuming process. Each directory has its own guidelines for submission, as well as a human editor. If your submission does not follow the guidelines, your site will be rejected. If your disregard for the guidelines is egregious, you may never be able to list your site with that directory.

One option is to consult with an SEO expert or internet marketing agency. An internet marketing professional can not only help you decide which directories are most appropriate for your website and take care of your submissions on your behalf, but he can also help you determine how to integrate directory submissions into your overall marketing strategy.
