If you would have a fire in your home today with the country in such bad shape, it could be worse to deal with then say a couple of years ago. If you are one of the millions of people who have lost their jobs, homes, or even their way of life, and you were to have a fire in whatever dwelling you happen to be living in even if it’s temporary, you could be in terms financially and emotionally ruined. Fires are always bad on everybody, but right now they would be considered worse.
With people struggling to make ends meet and trying to trim their expenses, they might not have any choice but to trim some of the things that they really need like trimming their insurance on their homes and on their cars. What I mean is that they might go to a lower priced type of homeowner’s insurance and if they have more than one car, they might sell one to help take it off of the price. If they need to keep both of them, then they will need to get with their insurance agent and find a cheaper type of policy so that they can pay for it.
If you would have a fire in your home and you lost your job, you would have to try and figure out where the money is going to come from because maybe your unemployment has run out and you have already had to tap into your savings if you had any savings to start with. Most people don’t have any savings. If your credit is already bad, this fire would be like the last draw to most people’s minds. The weight on someone’s mind or shoulders can really do some irreversible damage that might cause this person to try to do things that they normally would not do.
If our nation doesn’t fix itself soon, we will have to start looking at maybe trying to have more families moving in together and splitting their living expenses to help them pay for the other things that they need, such as their utility bills and insurance expenses. They might need help with the watching of their children so they can stop paying for daycare. We really need to look at all of our expenses and start doing some very strict spending cuts so that we will have the insurance that we would need to be caring in case of fire.
